MeyerBoys presents...Down on the Farm! DOTF is a gathering for car enthusiasts who share a passion for reminiscing those years when we focused a lot of energy and earnings on our mode of transportation. We tie closely to America's historic "DRIVE" across the country as the building of Route 66 developed its automotive culture.
We continue to grow our group through an invitational concept where only our best friends, and their best friends keep our charter in place. Our goal is to maintain a high ratio of drivers, supplemented with special invitees who support the charter.
Awards for our top two entries are determined by popular vote, combined with the MeyerBoys' favorite for a total of three. The Awards/Trophies are always a special surprise and have become the pinnacle of the event.
If you make the short list, come at noon and prepare for a casual country atmosphere, a picnic lunch and some of the best cars and machinery you can imagine!
This is an invitation only event
Down On The Farm 2017 MeyerBoys...We took our game up a notch this year! I hope you join us in 2018. More great surprises on the way.
Down On The Farm 2016 Possibly our best year ever! Starting with a great weather day in August with sunshine and low humidity, bringing out our largest group of car enthusiasts to date.
The tradition of the pig roast still in place.
The past and present trophy winners.
Lloyd Bisbing's 1950 Chevy Pickup Henry & Grant Kramer's late models Ed James' 1937 Buick Dodge Ram & C7 Corvette
A couple of "Legends" Ed James & John Rot Sr.
And...the next generation seems to be getting bigger!
John Rot Jr.
Personalities are emerging...
DOTF 2015 brought some new trophy winners. Joe Palermo's 2010 Camaro, Skarny's 2015 Corvette and "First Timer" Lloyd 's 1950 Chevy Truck took top honors.
Ed Schwendt was pleased to see the 1926 visible gas pump finally restored and displayed!
Down On The Farm 2014 was another great event. We were fortunate to have Hall of Famer, John Winston Senior ...join us. Mr. Winston was our mentor and garage guru from our early shaping days in the car hobby. The "Master of Restoration", showed up to make sure that he didn't miss anything and he did not. This year's trophy was called TOP PIK and was a unanimous vote. If this was a sports team ...his uniform number would be retired! His advice was always dependable...more sanding, less beer...we're painting at 7:00 am in the morning!
Down On The Farm 2013
Meyer Boys Classics hosted the 2nd annual Down On The Farm Event. The pig was the guest of honor again but a little more under control this year.
Kelly Winston's Mustang was a new entry this year and an award winner. After GM has dominated...the Ford guys were fired up!
The fix was in! Cragars...that is. Bro Mike finally got some hardware with the 67 GTO tribute car.
Repeat offender...Duane Matias won his second Down On The Farm trophy for his immaculate 1970 Grand Sport. Next year he's bringing his mom's car. It's probably a Rolls Royce or something... Three in a row?
Motoring Thru Time
Motoring Thru Time Show is an annual deal put on by the Phoenix Parks Department. They register vehicles by decade and there are entrys from the early 1900's to the 1980's. The oldest this year being a 1907 Renault Vanderbuilt Cup Race Car Belonging to Alan Travis. Another notable car was the white 65 SS Impala still under the care of it's original owner Vic Zavarella. And for a crowd pleaser...how about the 64 Olds Vista Cruiser pulling the 58 Silver Streak Travel Trailer owned by Jim & Sharon McMahon?

2012 Down on the Farm
On June 24th we kicked off our first Meyer Boys Classics Down on the Farm car show. Hosted at our Wilmington location, "The Freis Farm." The entries were amazing. The day was perfect and the roast beast was....well...he was roasted!
Duane Matias took top prize with his 1970 Buick Grand Sport 455 ci. The under carriage is as nice as the entire car. Rumor says Duane sleeps in this beauty 3 nights per week!
Steve Arp also took the award with another 1970 car. Steve's Chevelle SS 454 ci is a throw back to his high school days when he was known as the man to beat in the 1/4 mile.
Ed Schwendt's 2004 Chevy SSR won the AZ pick. Ed likes his cars with color. The yellow paint with red pin striping and red chevy bow ties on the 20 inch polished aluminum rims have a contrast color scheme that really looks sharp.
Bro John took home a honorable mention in the best Bermuda shorts category!
Chuck said, " No problem.. it's a dry heat boys... I'm from Arizona."
Let's do this Pig!
I think he's done.
